CHRISTIAN FRAMEWORK
Some of my clients request that I use a Christian framework for therapy. If this is the case, I use verses and passages from the Bible as a resource to help clients overcome their emotional and psychological struggles in conjunction with evidenced-based therapy models, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy. For example, if a client is dealing with depression and believes that he is completely inadequate, in addition to looking at past situations when he has not been inadequate, we also look to the Bible, which says that he is created in God's image and that he is “above and not beneath, more than a conqueror, and God's beloved," as evidence that he is adequate. Also,the Bible says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God; therefore, if someone is dealing with fear, I may recommend specific books and sermons on fear for homework. Romans 8:37
