Jake Huber, MA,NCC, PLPC
Jake Huber is a United States Marine Corps veteran who received his bachelor’s degree from La Roche University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Religion and Philosophy. He received his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Slippery Rock University and is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) currently working on obtaining Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) status. He is trauma-informed and obtained his Certified Trauma Professional Certificate through Evergreen. He works with older teens, ages 14 and above, and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, anger, addiction, relationships issues, PTSD, marital problems, spiritual formation, ADHD, and Bipolar Disorder symptom management. He has a variety of experiences serving in Intensive Behavioral Health Services, Partial-Hospitalization, School-based, and Outpatient settings. He utilizes a variety of different therapeutic approaches that include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Gottman Methods Therapy, Imago Dialogue, and Humanistic therapy approaches that are personalized to meet the client's current needs. Jake provides therapy within a Christian framework upon request, cultivating healing through kingdom values of care, concern, and compassion.
Today, Jake spends his free time spending time with his wife, dog, and cat; reading fantasy; spending time with his friends, as he values community; and traveling and backpacking, as he has been to 25 different countries and travelled to more than half of America’s National Parks.
