Jamie Diaz, MA,NCC, PLPC

Jamie Diaz is a national certified counselor (NCC) and a pre-licensed therapist in the state of Pennsylvania working under the supervision of Dr. Chen. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Jamie obtained her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Arts of Spanish from Northern Kentucky University with honors. After realizing her passion for helping others, Jamie decided to continue her education and obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University in Irvine, California. Jamie has gained a diverse professional background by living and working in states like Kentucky, Arizona and California. Jamie also spent time living abroad teaching English long-term and studying in South America. She has extended family in Puerto Rico and Cincinnati, Ohio. She has visited 7 countries giving her a strong multicultural worldview which allows her to work with clients from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. She has worked in the ER with the Spanish speaking population, as an in-home caretaker, with medical school students in California and in administration at a non-profit school with the Native American population close to the Navajo Reservation in Northern Arizona.
She completed her graduate internship and clinical counseling education requirements at a large community health organization in Columbus, Ohio in August 2022. At her site, she gained experience providing individual therapy with children, adolescents and adults. She also works with couples and families. She has provided therapeutic interventions for a variety of mental health diagnoses, including, but not limited to major depression, anxiety, marital stress, family issues, PTSD, eating disorders, sexual abuse, domestic violence, trauma, ADHD, ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and performed intake assessments. She is a clinician that provides a person centered, solution focused approach. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches to include Cognitive Behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, creative interventions and positive approaches that are personalized to meet each client’s needs. She will collaborate with her clients to help them achieve their goals, help them develop a growth mindset and realize their true potential resulting in sustainable change. Incorporation of a Christian framework in therapy is available upon request. Jamie accepts Highmark, Aetna, and Cigna.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time taking mini road trips, cooking, playing tennis with her husband, hiking, watching indie films/documentaries, reading the Bible for wisdom and tutoring kids.
